FOR PATIENTS
Prepare for your eye appointment.

YOUR FIRST VISIT
What to bring and plan for.
Your referral and cards
Bring your current referral, Medicare card and private health fund details if you have them.
What you use now
Bring your current glasses and a list of your medicines and eye drops, including the dose and how often you use them.
Confirm how long to allow
A first visit may include several eye tests before you meet the ophthalmologist. Ask the practice team how long to allow for your appointment.
Plan for dilation
Your pupils may be dilated with eye drops. Bring sunglasses and arrange a driver, because your vision may be blurred and light-sensitive afterwards.
